Gainesville wurde im Mai 2019 von Detlef (Lead Vocals & Rhythm-Guitar) und Michael (Lead-Guitar und Vocals) in Haag i. OB gegründet. Mit Bassist und Background Sänger Reini und Drummer Thomas (zeitweise vertreten durch Frank) fanden wir einen „perfect fit“, mit dem nun eine beeindruckende Band- und Bühnenerfahrung zusammenkommen!
Wie der Bandname Gainesville – die Geburtsstadt von Tom Petty – bereits andeutet, geht es musikalisch voll in Richtung Heartland Rock, Classic Rock sowie Rock’n’Roll. Wir sind DIE Tom Petty-Tribute-Band und damit einzigartig in Deutschland.
Wir spielen natürlich die Hits, die jeder sofort wiedererkennt – und Songs über die sich auch Rock-Feinschmecker freuen: von Mudcrutch und den Travelling Wilburys bis zu Chuck Berry, den Byrds, Eddie Cochran, denn diese Interpreten waren stilgebende Einflüsse für Tom Petty (& The Heartbreakers).
Neben einem guten Sound sorgen wir für eine „straight in your face“-Bühnenpräsentation – mitreißend und leidenschaftlich: Wer einen Abend mit Gainesville erlebt, darf sich über eine volle Packung Rock freuen – und wird mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht nach Hause gehen.
Gainesville was founded by Detlef (Lead Vocals and Rhythm-Guitar) and Michael (Lead-Guitar and Backing Vocals) in May 2019. The band was completed with the arrival of Reini (Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals) and Thomas (Drums; sometimes Frank fills in). Those two guys were the perfect match and together Gainesville now has an impressive amount of Band- and Stage-Experience under their belt.
As the name of the band predicts -birthplace and hometown of Tom Petty- the musical direction is Heartland Rock, Classic Rock and Rock’n’Roll. We are THE Tom Petty-Tribute-Band. This is what makes us unique in Germany. We are playing all the hits that everyone knows and songs for the rock connoisseurs alike! Starting with Mudcrutch and The Traveling Wilburys through to Chuck Berry, The Byrds, Eddie Cochran because those were the guys which influenced Tom Petty (&The Heartbreakers) massively.
